According to the general director of Roscosmos, the state corporation will not engage in suborbital flights, like American billionaires
MOSCOW, August 2. /TASS/. The Director General of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, proposed to create a special module at the Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS) for tourists to visit it.
The head of the state corporation recalled that on Saturday, during a meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of Roscosmos, the ROSS architecture was discussed. "I proposed the creation of a separate module for visiting the project," Rogozin said at a lecture at the Summer Space School.
According to the general director of Roscosmos, the state corporation will not engage in suborbital flights, like American billionaires. "This is more a matter for private companies," he believes.
According to Rogozin, Roscosmos will develop the direction of space tourism in terms of the development of the orbital manned program. As an example, the head of the state corporation cited plans to launch young scientists who could conduct experiments on the ISS themselves, if the preparation for the flight is accelerated.
The Summer Space School is an annual scientific and educational program for schoolchildren, students and specialists. This year it takes place from July 31 to August 8 at Skoltech. The school's program is divided into two stages: first, participants take a course of theoretical lectures on astrophysics, cosmonautics, space medicine, space communications, after which they consolidate their knowledge by simulating the flight of an interstellar expedition.
