The station turned 45 degrees, said Zebulon Scoville, the flight director of the American segment of the ISS
NEW YORK, August 1. /TASS/. The International Space Station (ISS) made almost one and a half turns during the incident with the Russian multi-purpose laboratory module (MLM) "Science". This was stated on Saturday evening by the head of the flight of the American segment of the ISS Zebulon Scoville.
Immediately after the incident, NASA reported that, according to preliminary estimates, due to the unexpected activation of the engines on the Nauka module, the ISS turned 45 degrees. "Almost all the rotation was pitch-wise. The station made almost 1.5 turns, and then half a turn to return to its original position," he wrote on Twitter in response to a question from one of the users.
MLM Nauka was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on July 21. On Thursday, the module docked to the ISS. After docking, NASA reported that the engines of the Nauka module inadvertently and unexpectedly began working at 12: 45 East Coast time (19: 45 Moscow time) on Thursday. The situation did not threaten the crew.
