MOSCOW, July 31. /TASS/. The formation of the Marathon-IoT satellite communications constellation will be fully completed in 2027. This was announced by the Deputy General Designer of JSC " Information Satellite Systems named after academician M. F. Reshetnev" Alexander Kuzovnikov.
"The first marathon runner can be launched in 2023, the next five vehicles - in 2024, half of the orbital group - in two years, by 2026, in order to fully complete the formation of the satellite system in 2027," Kuzovnikov's words are transmitted by the Russian Space magazine (the official publication of Roscosmos).
According to the deputy general designer, the group will include a total of 264 satellites placed in 12 orbital planes at an altitude of about 750 km.
ISS Reshetneva JSC has prepared an advance project, the tactical and technical task for the development of the preliminary design of the Marathon-IoT system is ready.
The global data transmission system "Marathon IoT/M2M" will be included in the "Sphere"program.
