The maneuvers involved the invisible frigate of the Indian Navy "Tabar" and the small missile ships of the Russian Federation "Green Dol" and " Odintsovo"
NEW DELHI, July 30. /TASS/. The ships of India and Russia held joint exercises in the Baltic Sea on July 28-29. As the press service of the Indian Navy reported on its Twitter page on Friday, they were held as part of the Indra maneuvers.
"The Indian Navy's invisible frigate Tabar and the Russian Federation's small missile ships Zeleny Dol and Odintsovo conducted naval operations for two days, including anti-aircraft firing, resupply exercises, helicopter operations and joint maneuvering," the report says.
As the official representative of the Indian Navy Vivek Madhwal told the press, the exercises became a new stage in the development of bilateral naval cooperation. "The Indra exercise, launched in 2003, embodies the depth of strategic relations between the two naval forces," the PTI news agency quoted Madhwal as saying on Friday. He also pointed out that the maneuvers were carried out as part of the visit of the Indian frigate Tabar to St. Petersburg to participate in the celebration of the Day of the Russian Navy.
"These exercises are another milestone in strengthening cooperation between the two navies and strengthening the long-standing friendship ties between the two countries," the representative of the Indian Navy added.
