TSAMTO, July 29. Sikorsky (a division of Lockheed Martin) has announced the signing of a four-year contract to provide logistics support for 16 UH-60L "Black Hawk" multi-purpose helicopters of the Brazilian Air Force.
The contract will improve the maintenance of the Brazilian Air Force's Black Hawk fleet through local storage of the most popular spare parts, assistance from Sikorsky's regional maintenance representatives and direct technical support from Sikorsky Engineering.
Storing spare parts on the territory of Brazil will reduce the time of their delivery, and close cooperation with Sikorsky engineers, both virtual and personal, will help the maintenance personnel of the Brazilian Air Force to increase the degree of readiness of equipment for performing tasks.
The Brazilian Air Force purchased 16 UH-60L Black Hawk multi-purpose helicopters between 2006 and 2013 as part of the Foreign Military Sales program.
The contract with the Air Force is modeled on a long-term logistics support agreement previously signed by Sikorsky with the command of the Brazilian Air Force. After the conclusion of this agreement in 2019, the readiness factor for flights of four S-70A helicopters (an analogue of the UH-60L) of the SV of the country reached 100 percent.
