As reported in the material of the publishing group "Jane's", the Israeli company Elbit Systems has developed a new fully automated 155-mm / 52 self-propelled howitzer SIGMA, made on a wheeled automobile chassis of the American company Oshkosh with the formula 10x10 (apparently, the M1075 type). The new self-propelled gun was developed in the interests of the Israel Defense Forces and is intended to replace the American 155-mm/39 tracked self-propelled howitzers of the M109 series in the Israeli ground forces from 2023, it is assumed that the new self-propelled gun will receive the official military name Roem.

The development of the ACS was carried out under a contract worth $ 125 million received by Elbit Systems from the Israeli Ministry of Defense in March 2019.
The SIGMA self-propelled gun crew of two or three people is located in the front armored cab of the chassis, equipped with a WMD protection system and full air conditioning. The firing part of the system with a 155-mm/52 swinging part is located in an uninhabited fully automated armored turret (although there is also a manual feeding and manual loading mode). The gun has a 23-liter charging chamber in accordance with the requirements of the Joint Ballistic Memorandum of Understanding (JBMoU), and is equipped with a muzzle brake and an ejector.
The SIGMA ACS uses a system of modular charges Uni-Modular Artillery Charge System (UMACS) developed by the Israeli company Israel Military Industries (IMI, now part of Elbit Systems), consisting of four modules-charges. The automatic loading system in the tower has two magazines - one for shells, the other for modular charges, and the fuse is also automatically installed. The ammunition of the SIGMA self-propelled gun has not yet been disclosed, as well as its main characteristics.
