For the first time, Ukraine has sent the Bayraktar TB2 attack and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) purchased earlier from Turkey to patrol the Black Sea waters. This was announced on Wednesday, July 28, according to the Telegram channel "Military Observer" with reference to the data of the Flightradar 24 portal.
As follows from the information provided, the drone proceeded along the Black Sea coast of the Odessa region, flew over Odessa and headed towards Nikolaev. Other details of the flight are not given.
On July 15, the Naval Forces of Ukraine received the first Turkish unmanned Bayraktar TB2 complex. Its final tests were carried out at the place where the Ukrainian Navy weapons were based. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran said that the complex will be used to monitor and cover the coast and waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky announced the delivery of Turkish UAVs for the Navy in early July. According to him, Ukrainian specialists have already completed training on Bayraktar TB2 management in Turkey. He also noted that by 2023, Turkey will build a modern corvette for Ukraine.
