Brussels. July 26. INTERFAX-The French Foreign Ministry said on Monday that Iran, by not returning to negotiations on a nuclear deal, threatens the conclusion of an agreement on the revival of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Western media reported.
"If he continues to follow this path, he will not only continue to postpone the moment when an agreement on the lifting of sanctions can be reached, but also risks undermining the very possibility of completing the negotiations in Vienna and reviving the JCPOA," French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Agnes von der Muhl was quoted as saying by the media.
Earlier in July, Washington accused Iran of delaying negotiations on the JCPOA.
Indirect US-Iranian negotiations on the full resumption of the 2015 JCPOA have been suspended since the end of the last round on June 20. The parties announced some progress, and the permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, noted that the agreement is almost 90% ready and the next round may be the final one.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi explained that Tehran will not return to the negotiating table before the elected new president, Ibrahim Raisi, takes office and forms a new government.
