Kabul. July 26. INTERFAX-The United States will provide assistance to the Afghan army, including supporting its actions on the ground with airstrikes, said the commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), General Kenneth Mackenzie.
During a working visit to Kabul, Mackenzie met with Afghan Defense Minister Bismillah Mohammadi, the press service of the IRA Defense Department reported.
"The meeting discussed further US assistance and cooperation with the National Defense and Security Forces of Afghanistan. General Mackenzie stressed that the United States will continue to provide assistance and cooperate with the Afghan army, as well as continue airstrikes in support of Afghan partners," the report says.
