MOSCOW, July 26-RIA Novosti. The Russian Aircraft Corporation (RSK) MiG has begun developing a carrier-based fighter of the 5th generation, which will be made using stealth technology, and plans to create a prototype of the aircraft in the next few years, a source in the defense industry complex told RIA Novosti.
He added that "within the framework of the project, the possibility of creating a version of a fighter with vertical take-off and landing is also being considered." It is expected that the aircraft will be made in the dimension of the MiG-35.
The machine, the interlocutor specified, will be created within the framework of the complex-a deck aircraft plus an unmanned aerial vehicle weighing more than 10 tons, which will be made according to the "flying wing"aerodynamic scheme.
"The device should be used together with the fighter within the framework of the concept of "faithful slave". Its functions are either refueling or joint strikes, " the source added. The interlocutor clarified that the device will also use developments on the "Scat"drone.
At the MAKS-2021 air show, MiG presented a promising multifunctional complex of deck aviation in the form of large-scale models. In particular, a large-scale model of a carrier-based fighter of the 5th generation was shown. According to the layout, the aircraft will be twin-engine with reduced radar visibility. The car will be made according to the "duck" aerodynamic scheme, that is, with a front horizontal tail-the aircraft has two keels at the rear without a tail horizontal tail. A mock-up of a UAV from the complex was also shown. A characteristic feature of the future device is the tail in the form of an inverted "V".
