Damascus. July 24. INTERFAX - The Russian Defense Ministry has delivered 250 thousand doses of the Russian Sputnik Light vaccine and 1 million tests for laboratory diagnostics of the coronavirus to Syria, the Russian military department told reporters.
"Today, at the Duvali airfield in Damascus, a ceremony was held to transfer 250 thousand doses of the Russian Sputnik Light vector vaccine and 1 million tests for laboratory diagnostics of a new coronavirus infection to the Syrian side, "the ministry said.
A large batch of Russian coronavirus vaccine and tests for the diagnosis of coronavirus was delivered to Syria by an IL-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
"On the way, all mandatory requirements for the transportation and storage of the vaccine and PCR tests using special thermal containers are fully met," the ministry stressed.
The military department reported that the delivery and transfer of the vaccine and PCR tests were carried out as part of the working trip of the Russian interdepartmental delegation to Syria, which takes place from July 24 to 29 in accordance with the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The head of the interdepartmental coordination headquarters of the Russian Federation for the return of refugees to Syria, the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, handed over certificates for the vaccine and PCR tests to the Minister of Municipal Administration and Ecology of Syria, Engineer Hussein Makhlouf.
