The Russian Federation has received a request from India for the supply of carrier-based MiG-29K/KUB fighters. These aircraft are the main carrier-based fighters of the Indian Navy.
Dmitry Shugaev, director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, announced India's request at the MAKS-2021 International Aviation and Space Salon, TASS writes. He added that relevant proposals have already been sent. The Russian Federation has started consultations on the modernization of fighter jets and is awaiting the announcement of a tender.
The MiG-29K / KUB is a multifunctional carrier-based fighter of the fourth generation. They can fly in any weather conditions. Designed to defeat surface and ground targets. They carry high-precision weapons. The speed of the fighters is over two thousand kilometers per hour. Aircraft can cover distances of up to one and a half thousand kilometers.
