26 Glonass satellites remain in the group"
MOSCOW, July 23. /TASS/. The Russian Glonass navigation satellite No. 716 (15th point) has been withdrawn from the system grouping. This is stated in the message of the Information and Analytical Center for Coordinate and Time Support.
"According to the GLONASS system control Center, all work with the Glonass-M spacecraft No. 716 (15th point) was stopped on 20.07.2021. The spacecraft has been withdrawn from the GLONASS orbital group," the report says.
The Glonass-M satellite No. 716 was launched into orbit in 2006 and put into operation on October 12, 2007.
Currently, there are 26 Glonass satellites in the group, 23 of them are used for their intended purpose, one satellite is temporarily put out for maintenance, two more satellites are undergoing flight tests. To cover the entire globe, 24 working Glonass devices are required.
