The Syrian military, using Russian-made air defense systems, destroyed Israeli missiles fired at the territory of the republic, said Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, on July 22.
According to him, on Thursday night, two F-16 fighter jets of the Israeli Air Force fired four missiles from Lebanese airspace at targets in the Syrian province of Homs.
"All four missiles were destroyed by the Syrian air defense forces on duty with Russian-made Buk — M2E complexes," Kulit told reporters at a briefing.
Earlier on Thursday, it became known that the Syrian air defense systems (air defense) repelled an Israeli missile attack in the west of the Arab republic. The strike, according to local TV channels, was carried out from the north-east of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
It was noted that the aggression was directed at the Al-Qusayr district in the Homs governorate. Nothing is known about the victims or the destruction.
