"In order to identify it and prevent violations of the state border of Russia, a Su-27 fighter from the Baltic Fleet air defense forces on duty was lifted into the air," the ministry noted.
The Su-27 was escorted by a German fighter. After the turn of the foreign military aircraft from the borders of Russia, he safely returned to the home airfield.
"The flight of the Russian fighter was carried out in strict accordance with the international rules for the use of airspace. Violations of the state border of Russia are not allowed, " the message says.
Recently, the activity of foreign reconnaissance aircraft and drones near the Russian borders has significantly increased. The Defense Ministry has repeatedly called on Western partners to abandon such actions, but there is no reaction.
