The concern of East Kazakhstan Region Almaz-Antey presented at the MAKS-2021 air show an unmanned interceptor of small-sized drones "Wolf-18", which can independently detect UAVs and shoot them down.
"Wolf-18" uses special networks that entangle other drones, after which they fall to the ground. It can also ram enemy drones, the Zvezda TV channel reports.
The interceptor drone is a high-speed and maneuverable quadcopter, which at the same time remains almost invisible to other drones. Its mass is 4 kg, the payload mass is 2 kg. The drone's body is made of carbon fiber. The interceptor can stay in the air for about half an hour.
The drone also received a new optical-location system, which provides an increased range of detection of air targets, and a control system that allows it to work in automatic mode.
