Rosoboronexport has signed contracts worth over €1 billion within the framework of the MAKS-2021 air show. This was announced on July 22 by the head of the company, Alexander Mikheev.
Rosoboronexport made the most of the potential of MAKS-2021 by signing 13 export contracts for the supply of Russian military products worth more than €1 billion on the sidelines of the salon," he told reporters.
According to him, foreign customers purchase Su-30SME aircraft, Mi-35M and Mi-17V-5 helicopters, the Enemy-GE radar, and the Willow MANPADS from the Russian Federation. In addition, contracts were signed for the supply of modern aviation weapons, a number of samples of armored and automotive equipment.
In addition, Mikheev said that during the negotiations on the sidelines of the Rosoboronexport salon, he discussed with customers from the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Africa and the CIS issues of industrial partnership in the field of joint and licensed production of Russian combat aircraft and helicopters.
Earlier, on July 21, Mikheev said that about 15 countries want to purchase the Russian Orion-E reconnaissance and strike drone. According to him, Rosoboronexport is currently processing applications from more than 20 countries for the Orlan-10E and about 15 applications for the Orion-E reconnaissance and strike aircraft.
In addition, the director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) Dmitry Shugaev said that preliminary negotiations have begun on the supply of the Su-57 fighter to foreign customers. He noted that a high-tech fighter of this class cannot be cheap, so negotiations are underway with creditworthy countries.
On July 19, a member of the board of the Military-Industrial Commission, Sergey Smirnov, said that foreign airlines are showing interest in the Russian medium-haul aircraft MS-21. He also noted that the existing firm contracts provide for the supply of 175 MS-21 aircraft for domestic companies.
On July 20, the MAKS-2021 International Aerospace Salon opened in Zhukovsky, near Moscow. During the presidential screening on the first day, the audience saw the flights of Ka-226 and Mi-171 helicopters, Su-57 and MiG-35 fighters and an experienced passenger aircraft MS-21-310.
