The head of the company, Yuri Slyusar, noted that " the time factor is one of the main competitive advantages in this project, as well as the price factor"
MOSCOW, July 21. /TASS/. Tests of the Russian single-engine fighter Checkmate ("Checkmate" in English) should be completed in 2027. This was stated on Wednesday by the head of the UAC Yuri Slyusar in an interview with the TV channel "Russia-24" as part of the MAKS-2021 air show.
"It is important for us to do it as soon as possible, because the time factor is one of the main competitive advantages in this project, as well as the price factor. We now see a niche of modern multifunctional aircraft with signs of the fifth generation, but at the same time inexpensive at the price, and it is important for us to get into this niche, so we set the task to complete the tests in 2027, " he said
Earlier, Rostec State Corporation presented the latest Russian single-engine fighter Checkmate at MAKS. Currently, an unmanned version of the fighter is being created on the basis of a single aviation platform. Checkmate can operate as part of a group of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles combined into a single system.
