Today, on July 21, it became known that JSC "Ural Civil Aviation Plant" sells 20 % in "Baikal-Engineering" to the company "Kazakhstan Aviation Industry" (KAI). The total investment in the project from the Kazakh side will amount to 1 billion rubles. For the first time, two countries that are members of the EAEU sign a joint agreement in the field of civil aircraft construction. This strategic document is expected to create conditions for the promotion of the Baikal aircraft outside the Russian Federation, and will give Kazakhstan the opportunity to develop aircraft construction and become a participant in the chain of cooperation in the aviation industry. KAI will have access to all design documentation and will become the manufacturer of some units for the Baikal LMS.
The agreement was signed by the Director General of UZGA Vadim Badeha and the Director General of KAI Daniyar Amangildin in the presence of representatives of the ministries of both countries (with) bmpd
Apparently, it is planned not only to transfer the license for the production of the aircraft, but also to organize export deliveries from the production site in Kazakhstan. This agreement will reduce the sanctions risks when selling the aircraft to third countries.
