Azimut Airlines, which operates Russian SSJ100 aircraft, signed an agreement with the European Airbus concern on the supply of six A220-300s at the MAKS-2021 air show. This was reported to Izvestia by Airbus on July 21.
It is planned to supply the air carrier with six A220s in a layout for 148 seats. The aircraft will arrive in the period from 2022 to 2024, said Pavel Ekzhanov, General Director of Azimut.
He clarified that before the agreement with Airbus, the company had already signed a firm contract for the supply of aircraft with the leasing company Air Lease Corporation. It assumes an option for another A220.
Currently, the Azimut fleet consists of 15 SSJ100 aircraft.
On July 20, Russian airlines ordered 58 SSJ100 airliners at the MAKS-2021 air show. Of these, 15 aircraft are a firm contract with Rossiya Airlines, the remaining 43 are memoranda with Red Wings Airlines (25 cars), Azimut (10 units) and the Far Eastern united airline Aurora (eight SSJ 100).
On the same day at the air show, Oleg Gulyaev, director of the Regional Aircraft branch of the Irkut Corporation, said that it is planned to produce 23 SSJ100 aircraft in 2021, and 18 in 2022.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is a Russian short-haul airliner that flies at a distance of up to 4.6 thousand km and is designed to carry 98 passengers.
