The rejection of the dollar and a flexible approach to arms customers are Russia's main countermeasures against Western sanctions. This was stated on July 21 during the MAKS-2021 air show by the director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) Dmitry Shugaev.
This is how he commented on his words said in June that Russia had found countermeasures against the restrictions of the "collective West".
"Russian countermeasures against sanctions consist in an individual approach to each of the customers, offering attractive conditions when concluding contracts, adjusting payment forms and providing more flexible schemes, abandoning the dollar and switching to other currencies, including national ones, "RIA Novosti quotes Shugaev.
As the head of the service added, Moscow, unlike Western countries, does not put forward "political" conditions for partners when implementing military-technical cooperation.
"Russia is a reliable partner offering high-quality equipment at a real price," he stressed. According to him, that is why there is a steady demand for military products made in Russia in the world.
In recent years, the volume of Russian arms exports has remained at the level of $15 billion, Shugaev added.
Earlier in the day, it became known that Russia plans to supply Indonesia with a batch of Su-35 multi-purpose combat fighters. A day earlier, it was reported that five countries had submitted applications for the purchase of Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighters.
The head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, noted that there will be a significant demand for this aircraft in the coming years. According to him, the Su-57 is one of the best fighters in the world in terms of its tactical and technical characteristics and has various advantages.
On July 20, the MAKS-2021 International Aerospace Salon opened in Zhukovsky, near Moscow. During the presidential show on the first day, the audience saw the flights of Ka-226 and Mi-171 helicopters, Su-57 and MiG-35 fighters and an experienced passenger aircraft MS-21-310.
