The new Il-112VE military transport aircraft has been launched by Russia on the world market. This was announced on Wednesday, July 21, by the director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) Dmitry Shugaev.
"Over the past two years, Russian aircraft manufacturers have introduced the Su-57E multifunctional fighter, the Il-76MD-90A(E) military transport aircraft, the Il-78MK-90A tanker aircraft, and the Il-112VE light military transport aircraft to the world arms market," he told TASS during the MAKS-2021 air show.
The Il-112VE military transport aircraft is an export version of the Il-112B aircraft created in the interests of the Russian Air Force. It is designed for the transportation and landing of cargo, transport, equipment, ammunition and personnel. The Il-112VE equipment allows the aircraft to be used in simple and difficult weather conditions in different climates, and its cargo cabin can transport self-propelled and non-self-propelled equipment.
In addition, Shugaev noted that Russia also pays increased attention to the introduction of the latest unmanned aerial vehicles to the market.
"Currently, we offer our partners a number of unmanned aerial vehicles: the Orlan-10E multifunctional complex, the Orion-E multifunctional aerial reconnaissance complex with a long-duration unmanned vehicle," he added.
On June 28, it became known about the beginning of the promotion of the first Russian export strike drone "Orion-E" to the world weapons market. It was reported that " proposals for the supply of the Orion shock were sent to a number of foreign customers who may be in demand for shock devices of this class, and several initiative applications were also received from potential buyers."
