However, this will happen if it does not contradict the national security of the country, Dmitry Shugaev noted
ZHUKOVSKY /Moscow region/, July 21. /TASS/. Russia is ready to provide aviation technologies to partners in military-technical cooperation if this does not contradict the national security of the Russian Federation. This was announced to journalists at the MAKS-2021 international Air Show by Dmitry Shugaev, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS).
"We are one of those countries that share their technologies. Our Indian partner is one of the good examples where we share technologies, which no one else offers to the same Indians. In this regard, we understand that the market is very capacious, and we cannot rely only on finished products, " Shugaev informed.
According to him, technology transfer can be carried out if it does not contradict the interests of Russia. "Technology transfer is a security issue. Technology transfer is not at the expense of security - it is in our interests. Russia complies with all international agreements and, cooperating with a large number of partners, is not friends against anyone, and national security is always a priority, " Shugaev added.
New single-engine fighter
The new light tactical aircraft (LTS) developed by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of the Rostec state Corporation) will compete with the latest combat aircraft on the world arms market, Shugaev said.
"The LTS is a machine primarily intended for export. Understanding its flight characteristics, strike and reconnaissance capabilities, low radar vulnerability, we expect that it will be a serious competitor to its analogues. We see prospects in it as a competitor to the leading Western manufacturers of the so - called light single-engine fighters of the fifth generation," Shugaev informed.
According to him, the LTS will allow Russia to occupy a new niche in the global military aviation market. "With the help of this product, we hope to occupy a certain promising niche in the market of these aircraft [LTS]," Shugaev added.
As the head of the FSVTS noted, the French Rafale fighter and the Swedish JAS-39 Gripen are competitors to the new Russian LTS on the world market. Among the potential customers of the new car, he mentioned the countries of the Middle East, Southeast Asia and North Africa.
The new LTS will be distinguished by a high ratio of cost and efficiency. "Since the aircraft is intended for export, the price will be one of the indicators and our advantages," Shugaev summed up.
MAKS-2021 takes place from July 20 to 25. The exhibition is one of the three largest air shows in the world.
