ZHUKOVSKY /Moscow region/, July 21. /TASS/. Russia has handed over to India a commercial offer for the supply of 21 MiG-29 fighters. This was announced to TASS during the MAKS-2021 air show by the press secretary of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) Valeria Reshetnikova.
"A tender request has been received from the headquarters of the Indian Air Force for the supply of 21 aircraft in 2021. The commercial offer was submitted by the Russian side to the Indian partners and is now being considered by the customer," she said.
In January, the Times of India newspaper reported that India plans to purchase 21 MiG-29 light fighters and 12 Su-30MKI fighters from Russia. The acquisition of the MiG-29 installation batch will increase the number of these fighters in the Indian Air Force to 59.
The MAKS-2021 air Show takes place in Zhukovsky, near Moscow, from July 20 to 25.
