ZHUKOVSKY (Moscow region), July 20-RIA Novosti. A supercomputer was used in the development of the new Russian single-engine fighter of the fifth generation Checkmate, Sergey Chemezov, General Director of Rostec State Corporation, said in an interview with RIA Novosti at the MAKS-2021 air show.
"Supercomputer technologies are actively used in the creation of the machine. This has significantly reduced the time, as well as the cost of development and testing," Chemezov said.
The head of Rostec clarified that Checkmate is a high-tech intelligent aviation platform. "It has an open architecture and is adaptive, it can be assembled in several configurations configured according to the customer's wishes. In addition, the car has a huge potential for modernization, " the head of the corporation explained.
The prototype of the Checkmate light tactical fighter was presented for the first time at the MAKS-2021 Air Show on Tuesday. The aircraft is being developed by Sukhoi (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of the Rostec State Corporation). The machine is focused on export deliveries.
