ZHUKOVSKY (Moscow region), July 20-RIA Novosti. The new Russian single-engine stealth fighter of the fifth generation Checkmate, the prototype of which was shown at MAKS-2021, will be able to carry up to five air - to-air missiles and other ammunition in the fuselage compartments, Sergey Chemezov, General Director of Rostec State Corporation, said in an interview with RIA Novosti at the air show.

He noted that the fighter belongs to the fifth generation and "has little visibility".

"The Checkmate light tactical aircraft is capable of carrying up to five air-to - air missiles of various ranges and other aviation weapons in an unobtrusive configuration," Chemezov said.

"The aircraft is equipped with advanced avionics and the most spacious internal weapons compartments in its class," the head of Rostec added.

He also said that the aircraft received a unique combination of flight characteristics, combat effectiveness at an affordable price and low cost of flight hours. "For example, the maximum combat load is 7,400 kilograms, the flight range without outboard fuel tanks is 2,900 kilometers. These are very high indicators for relatively "light" single-engine machines, " the head of Rostec explained.

"An automated logistics support system"Matryoshka" has been created for the aircraft. It allows you to organize personnel training, plan maintenance with high accuracy and deliver components in a timely manner, " Chemezov said.

The solution will reduce the cost of after-sales service, increase its efficiency and ensure a high level of combat readiness of the fleet even during high-intensity flights.

The prototype of the Checkmate light tactical fighter was presented for the first time at the MAKS-2021 Air Show on Tuesday. The aircraft is being developed by Sukhoi (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of the Rostec State Corporation). The machine is focused on export deliveries.

The MAKS-2021 air Show takes place from July 20 to 25 in Zhukovsky, near Moscow. RIA Novosti is the general information partner of MAKS-2021, Sputnik agency is the official information partner.
