Zhukovsky (Moscow region). July 20. INTERFAX - The new light fighter of the 5th generation Checkmate will be able to carry all the weapons of the Su-57, the head of the UAC Yuri Slyusar told reporters.

"The internal fuselage placement, and we say that here are the largest compartments for aircraft of this type, allows you to place the entire range of aviation weapons that are used on fifth-generation Su - 57 aircraft," Slyusar said at the presentation of the aircraft at MAKS-2021.

The new light single-engine fighter "Checkmate" of the 5th generation was presented on Tuesday to Russian President Vladimir Putin. It" combines innovative solutions and technologies, including support for the pilot's work by means of artificial intelligence, as well as proven solutions that have already proven themselves in practice, "Rostec said.

The first flight of the fighter is expected in 2023, "2024-2025 - the construction of prototypes, 2026-the launch of the installation batch," the presentation notes.
