Zhukovsky (Moscow region). July 20. INTERFAX-PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) is working on creating cargo versions of SSJ100 and MS-21 passenger aircraft, the director of the Regional Aircraft branch of PJSC Irkut Corporation (part of UAC)said Oleg Gulyaev.
"We are currently working on conceptual solutions for the release of the cargo version ("Superjet" - IF). And this issue is being considered not only in relation to the Sukhoi Superjet aircraft, but also in relation to the MS-21," Gulyaev told reporters at the MAKS - 2021 air show.
"If we talk about the Sukhoi Superjet aircraft, when the final decision is made on the basis of the business plans, the business model that we are presenting to our shareholder today, the development, release of documentation and certification of this aircraft will take place within two years," Gulyaev added.
He did not specify the timing of the creation of the cargo MS-21.
Among the interested parties of such aircraft, he named "Russian Post" and "a number of private operators who are focused on online commerce".
