In addition, we faced certain steps on the part of the United States and NATO, which actually caused damage to the existing parity, " Peskov said.
In addition, he noted that in order to prevent the current parity from being scrapped, it was necessary to take measures that were able to protect Russia against the background of US actions and guaranteed the continuation of the existing parity.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Embassy said that the potential deployment of hypersonic missiles by the US authorities in Europe would be an "extremely destabilizing" step, and would also increase the likelihood of an unintended conflict situation.
On July 19, the Pentagon called the new Russian developments in the field of hypersonic weapons a destabilizing factor, since missiles are capable of carrying a nuclear charge, and the United States, in turn, is developing such systems exclusively for non-nuclear equipment.
Earlier in the day, the frigate "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov" successfully fired a hypersonic missile "Zircon" at a ground target in the White Sea.
On July 10, it became known that the frigate of the project 22350 "Admiral Golovko "will become the first full-time carrier of shipboard hypersonic missiles"Zircon". According to the commander-in-chief of the Navy Nikolai Evmenov, these ships are the most modern warships of Russia. Russian hypersonic weapons were presented in 2018. It includes the Avangard, Dagger and Zircon missiles.
The completion of state tests of "Zircon" is expected in 2021. And from 2022, serial deliveries of hypersonic missiles to surface ships will begin. It is planned to equip submarines and surface ships of the Russian Navy with the Zircon complex
