TSAMTO, June 20. The Chinese company Aerospace Long-March International (ALIT) has introduced a new ship-based anti-aircraft missile system LY-80N, intended for export.
As reported by Armyrecognition.com The LY-80N is a modern medium-range anti-aircraft missile system that can be placed on board ships of various types and provides interception of fighter jets and anti-ship missiles of the enemy. The LY-80N system is used as part of the PLA Navy.
The maximum range of hitting targets is 40 km, the height of hitting targets is from 7 to 15 thousand meters, the probability of hitting one missile is 0.83.
The HQ-16E/LY-80N air defense system is an export version of the HQ-16 complex, which is equipped with a Type-054A class frigate of the PLA Navy. The lead ship of this type entered the combat structure of the PLA Navy in January 2008.
The length of the Type-054A class frigate is 134.1 m, the maximum width is 16 m, the total displacement is 4053 tons. The ship is equipped with a CODAD-type power plant with four Shaanxi 16 PA6 STC diesel engines and is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 27 knots. The cruising range is 3,800 nautical miles at a speed of 18 knots.
The frigate's armament also includes a 76-mm H/PJ-26 artillery installation and two 30-mm AU (seven-barrel H/PJ12 for frigates from 1 to 16 and 11-barrel H/PJ11, starting with the 17th ship (577) "Huanggang"), as well as two quadruple PU with S-802 anti-ship missiles.
