The power of the installation in take-off mode is 900 kW
ZHUKOVSKY /Moscow region/, July 20. /TASS/. The United Engine Building Company (UEC) of the Rostec state Corporation for the first time presented a hybrid power plant for light helicopters and drones at the MAKS-2021 air show.
"The propellers of the aircraft (propellers) are driven by electric motors, which can be powered either separately from a generator or a battery, or at the expense of their total energy. Hybridization makes it possible to effectively manage energy flows and choose the most optimal operating modes of its sources compared to traditional power plants," the UEC press service told TASS on Tuesday.
The first hybrid power plant of the UEC presented at the air show consists of a gas turbine engine, electric motors,a control system and a battery. The power of the installation in take-off mode is 900 kW.
As explained in the corporation, the hybrid power plant can be used in the future on light multi-purpose helicopters, drones and cyclolet-type aircraft.
The International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS-2021) takes place from July 20 to 25 in Zhukovsky, near Moscow.
