The Mi-28NM "Night Hunter" attack helicopter is planned to be delivered abroad. The decision on the supply of military equipment will be made following the results of the car's display at the international Aviation and Space salon MAKS-2021.
"A promising Russian-made Mi-28NM attack helicopter will be presented at MAKS this year. I hope that following the results of the demonstration of this equipment during the salon and familiarization with its tactical and technical capabilities, we will begin to receive appropriate appeals from our foreign colleagues," Dmitry Shugaev, head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, told RIA Novosti.
Recall that the Night Hunter attack helicopter, which took part in combat operations in Syria, has been modernized. The machine differs from the basic model by an expanded composition of weapons. The new Chrysanthemum missile system, which has an electronic control system, allows hitting tanks with 1200 mm armor at a distance of up to six kilometers. A missile with a range of up to 25 kilometers has also been developed for the Mi-28NM.
For their high aerobatic qualities and reliability, the new helicopters received the unofficial nickname "Nikolai Mikhailovich".
The Mi-28NM also received a new engine, avionics with a new sighting and search system and the ability to interact with drones. The cruising and maximum speed have become higher, and a second set of controls is installed in the navigator's cabin.
