Kabul, July 18. INTERFAX-The United States has provided three Black Hawk helicopters to the Afghan army, said General Ajmal Omar Shinwari, a spokesman for the Afghan Defense and Security Forces.
"In accordance with the commitments made during the recent visit of the president to the United States, to equip the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces, three new UH-60 Blackhawks were delivered to the heroic Afghan Air Force today from the United States," Shinwari tweeted.
Earlier, Afghan National Security Adviser Hamdullah Moheb said at a press conference that in the near future the United States will provide the Afghan Air Force with seven Black Hawk helicopters and that this process will continue. Moheb also said that with the arrival of combat helicopters, the situation on the fronts will improve, and current problems will be better solved with the help of aviation equipment.
