The Russian military has completed tests of weapons of submarines in the deep-water areas of the Barents and Norwegian Seas, they were monitored daily by NATO ships. This was announced on July 16 by the press service of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Federation.
"The submariners of the Northern Fleet have successfully completed a special exercise to test the systems and weapons of submarines in the deep-water areas of the Barents and Norwegian Seas. The crews of nuclear submarines took part in the exercise," the report says.
It is noted that the servicemen worked out the tasks at the maximum depths for most modern submarines. The rescue squad of the Northern Fleet-the rescue vessel "Georgy Titov" and the rescue tug "Nikolai Chiker"took part in the tests.
The Russian Federation also reported that the presence of ships of the naval forces of NATO countries was recorded in the area of deep-sea fleet tests in the Norwegian Sea. In addition, up to 10 aircraft of the alliance's basic patrol aviation were in the air every day, the press service added.
