MOSCOW, July 16. /TASS/. The United Engine Corporation (part of Rostec) is initiating research work on a sixth-generation engine for combat aviation. This was announced in an interview with TASS by the Deputy General Director of the United Engine Corporation for Strategy (UEC, part of Rostec) Mikhail Remizov.
"Now work is being initiated in several promising areas: sixth-generation engine technologies, a combined power plant, technologies for a more electric motor <...> Research work on the technologies of the sixth-generation demonstrator engine is included in the promising thematic plan of the UEC and in our applications for funding through state programs," he said.
Remizov stressed that the creation of the sixth-generation engine requires a state decision and funding. Also, the scientific and technical reserve for the product must be formed ahead of time.
Currently, Russia is developing fifth-generation engines: "Product 30 "for the Su-57 fighter and" Product of the Russian Federation " for the promising long-range aviation complex PAK DA.
