The Israel Defense Forces demonstrated a prototype of the Pereg heavy armored personnel carrier. The machine is made on the basis of the Merkava tank.
Israel showed a heavy armored personnel carrier "Pereg", which is a conversion of the Merkava Mk 3 combat tank into a protected special-purpose platform.
The turret was removed from the tank and a fixed wheelhouse was mounted. The combat vehicle received new navigation systems, the Masua-750 command and control system, a winch and a crane.

In the future, "Pereg" can be equipped with an active protection complex (KAZ): the type of system will be determined in the future.

Earlier, the Israeli military-industrial complex presented a new version of the famous heavy armored personnel carrier "Namer". The car was equipped with a modern uninhabited remote-controlled tower.
The main feature of the Namer family of combat vehicles is the high level of protection of the landing and crew, which can be compared with the security of a modern tank.
Recall that last year an important event took place for Russia — its Armed Forces received the first T-90M "Breakthrough"tanks. These vehicles can be considered a transitional stage on the way to a new generation tank made on the basis of the Armata platform.
