Radical groups in Syria have become more active in the territory controlled by the US-led coalition. This was announced on Monday, July 12, by the deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties (CPVS) in the SAR, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit.
According to him, over the past week, the coalition's facilities located in Zaevfratye were shelled four times.
Kulit added that on July 11, militants fired at coalition facilities in the areas of the Konoko and Al-Omar oil and gas fields with the help of artisanal multiple launch rocket systems.
Earlier, on July 11, it was reported that American forces stationed in the north-east of Syria were attacked by militants twice a day. The attack was aimed at a military base of the international coalition led by the United States, located near the Al-Omar oil and gas field in the north-east of the country in the province of Deir ez-Zor.
Earlier in the day, the Pentagon said that the US military came under fire in eastern Syria near Konoko, where the American base is located. Then it was noted that, according to the initial reports, there were no losses, injuries or damage to structures.
The armed conflict in Syria has been going on since 2011. In 2017, the victory over the terrorist group IS (banned in the Russian Federation) in Syria and Iraq was announced. In some parts of the country, the cleansing of militants continues.
