MOSCOW, July 12-RIA Novosti. The largest exercises in the history of the Rosgvardiya "Zaslon-2021" have started in Russia, they will last until July 30 and will become part of the preparation for the main maneuvers of the Russian army "West-2021" this year, the press service of the department told RIA Novosti.
The goal is to prepare for the joint strategic exercise "West-2021", which will be held in September this year. The exercises will involve military units and formations from different districts of the National Guard troops, as well as units of territorial administrations.
The transfer of forces to the areas of practical training will be carried out by aircraft, cars and trains.
The exercises are designed to assess the readiness of the troops to perform the assigned tasks, improve the professionalism of the personnel and the coherence of the units. Tasks "aimed at neutralizing threats to the state and public security of Russia"will be worked out.
