The Polish Defense Ministry is negotiating with the American side about the possible purchase of up to 250 M1 Abrams tanks, Defense News writes, referring to the Polish press.
The publication notes that we are talking about a variant of the M1A2 SEPv3 tank. Also, as part of the deal, Poland wanted to buy ten tracked vehicles from the United States, which will be required for training. The total amount of the transaction varies from 2.9 to five billion dollars. According to the publication, M1 Abrams should replace the T-72 and PT-91 tanks.
Defense News reminds that earlier Poland announced plans to purchase 24 Bayraktar TB2 drones from Turkey.
In May, the American magazine The National Interest named four of the most powerful tanks operating in the world: the German Leopard 2 A7+, the American M1 Abrams, the South Korean K2 Black Panther and the Russian T-14 Armata.
