MOSCOW, July 10-RIA Novosti. The probability of a war with Russia can no longer be called hypothetical, but the US government is not ready for it at all. This was stated in an interview with The Hill by former American intelligence officer Rebecca Koffler.
The author of the article refers to the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to whom, Western countries knowingly understand their loss in the event of a third world war.
Russia drew attention to the fact that the United States relies on the use of technology even with such poorly armed opponents as militants in Afghanistan and Iraq. In this regard, the Kremlin has chosen cyberspace and space as a battleground, Koffler explained.
She recognized the defenselessness of American IT networks and satellites and did not rule out the possibility of Russia hitting the US orbital defense system.
Koffler stressed that at present the Black Sea region remains one of the most likely hotbeds of a possible war between Russia and NATO, in which the United States will also be involved.
Vladimir Putin's confidence that Washington does not know how to resist Russia in the event of war puts the United States in an even more difficult situation, the former intelligence officer concluded.
