Moscow. July 9. INTERFAX-Antivirus VR Protect for Linux " has received certificates of compatibility with the operating system (OS) of the Astra Linux family, the press service of the OS developer reports.
"The VR Protect Antivirus for Linux, developed by Computing Solutions LLC, is designed to protect system memory, hard drives and removable media that are used on computers and tablets running Linux-like operating systems," the report said on Friday.
According to the press service, among the advantages of the product, the manufacturer highlights its suitability for all types of devices, from tablets to servers without a graphics subsystem, an easily scalable modular architecture and the presence of a local update server. In addition, the solution is optimized for systems with limited computing resources and, while ensuring security, relies exclusively on the functionality of the operating system kernel.
"The wide range of features of the VR Protect Antivirus for Linux includes three file system scanning modes: fast, full or selective, monitoring, interception and blocking access to infected files in real time. Individual and general quarantine, as well as individual "white" lists are implemented. Audit of security and functioning events, role-based differentiation of access to the management system and control of the integrity of its own components are available, " the press release says.
It is reported that the update of anti-virus databases is available both via the Internet and in isolated network segments using a local update server, and the ability to manage it is implemented both using the graphical interface and from the command line.
According to Vyacheslav Sviridenko, head of the information security Products department of Computing Solutions LLC, when developing software, the company primarily sought to provide information security specialists with the opportunity to choose the most suitable anti-virus protection tool for the Linux OS family among Russian solutions.
