During the week, Russian radar stations recorded 51 aircraft of foreign states that conducted reconnaissance near the borders of Russia, the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper reported on Friday, July 9.
Aerial reconnaissance along the borders of Russia was conducted by 46 reconnaissance aircraft, as well as five unmanned aerial vehicles of foreign countries. All flights were controlled by Russian radar systems.
In order to prevent violations of the borders of the Russian Federation, Russian fighters rose four times to escort foreign aircraft. There were no violations of the Russian airspace.
On July 8, a Russian Su-27 fighter jet escorted a French Air Force reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea.
The Ministry of Defense stated that there was no violation of the state border of the Russian Federation.
