Nutraceutical against aging
The US Special Operations Command has announced its readiness to begin clinical trials of "anti-aging pills" on its employees as soon as funding for the next 2022 is approved. Preclinical tests have already been conducted, no negative effects have been detected. In addition, this is not a drug, but a nutraceutical, the use of which is not controlled by the authorities, and therefore experiments on special forces can be carried out on a large scale.
Nutraceuticals are usually understood as biologically active substances, food additives, which include certain components. In this case, it is a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) molecule developed in the private bio-laboratory MetroBiotech. It is the brainchild of David Sinclair, a professor of genetics and a biogerontologist from Harvard, known for his work on preventing the aging of the human body. The principle of action of NAD+ is to stimulate the mitochondria for continuous, stable production of adenosine triphosphate, which is the basis of the cell's energy system. The lower the level of output, the weaker a person is, the less resources he has for any work, which is the most characteristic sign of old age. In addition, there are rare and dangerous mitochondrial diseases that can dramatically worsen the situation.

The difficulty is that for a healthy and not yet aged person, NAD+ is useless as a medicine or a stimulant, it is more like a "safety net". On the other hand, the same Sinclair describes the design of the synthetic NAD + molecule as a universal design for getting rid of the root cause of many potential diseases. The truth will be revealed only by the results of clinical trials – doctors themselves are very interested in what the effect of this nutraceutical will be.
