Underwater weapons tend to be ineffective on the surface, this is its main problem, writes Popular Science. However, in Russia, a two - medium special automatic machine-ADS-was developed to solve this problem.
ADS can be used both under water and on land. The machine is compact and lightweight due to the location of the magazine behind the trigger and the use of plastics. For shooting, you can use cartridges and 5.45×39 for AK-74 and underwater 5.45 PSP. "Underwater bullet" is a long steel projectile, almost completely hidden inside the cartridge.
The ADS has a rifled barrel, switching shooting in water and air environments, a unique gas outlet mechanism and a device for extracting cartridges forward, which is much safer for the fighter. The aiming range of shooting in the water is up to 25 meters, on land - 600 meters. The new version of the ADS is already in mass production.
The publication concludes: the automatic ADS will stop saboteurs both under water and on land. It can also be used against animals trained for military purposes, such as sea lions, dolphins and belugas.
