BEIJING, July 7. /TASS/. China, using the Changzheng-3C launch vehicle (CZ-3C, Long March-3C), successfully launched the Tianlian-1-05 data relay satellite (Tianlian 1-05). This was reported on Wednesday by the Central Television of China.
According to him, the launch took place on Tuesday at 23:53 local time (18:53 Moscow time) from the Xichang cosmodrome (Sichuan Province, Southwest China).
It is noted that this satellite will relay data and measurements for guided spacecraft, satellites, launch vehicles.
The first Chinese satellite-repeater "Tianlian-1-01" was launched using a carrier rocket "Changzheng-3S" at the end of April 2008. The satellites "1-02", "1-03" and "1-04" of this series were launched in 2011, 2012 and 2016, respectively. In March 2016, China also successfully launched a new-generation relay satellite, Tianlian-2-01.
According to the Central Television of China, "Tianlian-1-05" will work in conjunction with these devices.
The current launch was the 378th in a row for the Changzheng series launch vehicles.
