RSC Energia specialists plan to develop a navigation and communication system for future Russian missions to the moon. This is stated in the corporation's annual report for 2020.
The report explains that the projected system will allow solving navigation and communication problems for all lunar subscribers located within a radius of up to 60,000 km from the center of the Moon. Subscribers will be spacecraft in orbits of approach (departure) to the Moon, near-lunar orbits of any height, objects on the surface of the Moon (including on the back side of the Moon).
According to the plans announced by Roscosmos, in October 2021, Russia plans to send an automatic station "Luna-25" to the Moon, which will become the first domestic device in modern Russia on a natural satellite of the Earth.
In addition, Russia and China plan to start construction of an international scientific lunar station in 2026 and fully complete it by 2035.
The first Russian manned expedition to the surface of the moon is planned to be sent by 2030.
