The cost of developing the Ukrainian coastal missile complex LCD-360MC "Neptune", called in Kiev the" destroyer " of the Russian Crimean Bridge, amounted to $ 40 million, Defense Express reports.
The corresponding amount was disclosed by the general director of the Luch design Bureau Oleg Korostelev.
It is noted that this cost includes the development of communications equipment, vehicles and missiles.
"The development of our medium-range anti-aircraft missile system will cost about the same amount," the CEO said.
In July 2020, Korostelev said that the missile system was created in 2.5 years in conditions of limited financial resources. He also said that the LCD-360MC "Neptune" uses mainly Ukrainian components, in particular, an engine, an inertial navigation system, a radar homing head and a communication system.
The R-360 rocket of the RK-360MC "Neptune" complex is distinguished by a warhead weighing 150 kilograms, a launch range of up to 280 kilometers and a speed of about 900 kilometers per hour. The altitude of the rocket flight is from three to ten meters above sea level. One division consists of 19 vehicles and 72 missiles. At one time (with an interval of several seconds), the division is able to provide a salvo launch of 24 missiles. The main purpose of the weapon is surface ships with a displacement of up to 5 thousand tons.
