The campaign for revaccination from coronavirus has begun in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on July 1.
"In accordance with the decisions of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation and the operational headquarters of the Ministry of Defense to prevent the introduction and spread of a new coronavirus infection in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from July 1, 2021, revaccination of military personnel of all categories who have already received a full course of vaccination before January 1, 2021 has been organized in the military medical organizations of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation," the ministry noted.
It is specified that military family members, federal state civil servants, civilian personnel and military pensioners will also be re-vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation announced the start of the campaign for re-vaccination against coronavirus in Russia on June 30. As noted in the department, revaccination can be performed by any of the drugs registered in Russia.
On the same day, during a direct line, Russian President Vladimir Putin explained that revaccination against COVID-19 is recommended in six months in conditions of an increase in the incidence, in normal conditions it is important to re-vaccinate after 12 months. The Head of State added that 10% of those vaccinated still detect the virus, but the disease passes easily and without consequences.
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova clarified that after vaccination against coronavirus, not 10%, but 2.5% of those who are vaccinated get sick.
A large-scale vaccination against COVID-19 has been taking place in Russia since January 18. Vaccination is done free of charge to everyone on a voluntary basis. At the moment, four drugs for coronavirus have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, Sputnik Light, EpiVacCorona and KoviVak.
