TSAMTO, July 1. Verkhneturinsky Machine-Building Plant (VTMZ) of the Techmash concern has opened a new mechanical workshop for the production of shell casings for field and tank artillery.
The project also provides for the modernization and technical re-equipment of VTMZ. The new workshop will allow the company to increase the volume of production of products by 150%. The total area of the building was 3,200 sq. m.The state defense order will be carried out at the new facilities.
"The project for the construction of a new site for the production of shell casings started in 2016. To date, all the technological equipment involved in the main production line has been connected to the shop, and detailed testing of all commissioning works is also being carried out. The full commissioning of the facility is expected by September of this year. After the workshop reaches its design capacity, the company will be able to increase the production of products by 150%, " said Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec cluster of weapons, ammunition and special chemicals.
In addition, the new building is planned to produce civilian products in several areas, the development of which VTMZ is conducting as part of the diversification program and according to the strategy of Rostec State Corporation to increase the volume of "citizen" to 50% by 2025.
The reconstruction of the machine shop also allowed creating additional high-tech jobs. To perform operations on the new equipment, VTMZ specialists undergo professional retraining.
