TSAMTO, June 30. The Armed Forces of Albania intend to purchase unmanned aerial vehicles manufactured by the Turkish company Baykar Defense in the amount of 8.2 million euros.
According to the Albanian resource Exit.al, in the state budget (as amended on June 22), the specified amount is allocated to the Ministry of Defense for the purchase of UAVs.
Earlier this month, Interior Minister Bledar Kuchi released a video of his meeting with representatives of Baykar Defense and a visit to its factory.
Last year, Albania became the first buyer of a UAV protection system developed by the Turkish company National War Technologies Defense Systems Inc.
TSAMTO's comment
Given the relatively small amount allocated for the purchase of UAVs, it can be assumed that we are talking about the supply of Baykar Defense mini-UAV "Bayraktar" (the name of the mini-UAV is similar to the MALE class drone of the same company) with a maximum take-off weight of 9.9 kg, or another small-sized vertical take-off and landing drone with a maximum take-off weight of 30 kg.
